Born and raised in Perry, Georgia, Kierra’s journey was shaped early by lived experience. Growing up in a household impacted by mental health challenges and financial hardship following her parents’ divorce, she witnessed firsthand how invisible struggles can shape families, relationships, and a child’s understanding of safety and resilience. 

While difficult, those early years cultivated empathy, emotional awareness, and strength long before she had language for them. Rather than allowing adversity to harden her, she chose to let it inform her purpose to lay the foundation for a life dedicated to helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Kierra graduated from Perry High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fort Valley State University in 2011, graduating with a 3.52 GPA. That same year, she became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. 

Shortly after graduation, she navigated one of the most humbling seasons of her life by raising her newborn son while relying on unemployment and government assistance. That season strengthened her resilience and reinforced her commitment to building stability, purpose, and leadership rooted in service.

Her professional career began in 2012 through the Manager-in-Training Program at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where she developed foundational leadership and operational skills. In 2013, she transitioned into social services, serving as a Social Services Protect and Placement Specialist with Jones County DFCS. There, she worked in Child Protective Services Investigations and Family Preservation and served as a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Team Member across multiple counties in Georgia.

In 2015, Kierra earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University with a 3.83 GPA. She began her clinical work at Piedmont Counseling Services, Inc., providing therapy and assessments to diverse populations. In January 2016, she joined Atrium Health Medical Center of Central Georgia as a Mental Health Crisis Worker, conducting emergency psychiatric evaluations in hospital emergency rooms. During this time, she also worked as a Support Coordinator with Georgia Support Services, Inc., advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Kierra became a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in 2017 and expanded her trauma-focused work at Hephzibah Behavioral Health Services. In 2018, she accepted leadership roles with Middle Flint Behavioral Health Center, serving as Superior Court Coordinator, Intensive Case Management Team Lead, and Interim Community Support Team Lead, overseeing services across 11 counties. In September 2018, she achieved full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

From 2018 to 2023, Kierra served as a Behavioral Health First Responder with BHL Mobile Crisis, responding to acute psychiatric emergencies in the community that demanded clarity, decisiveness, and calmness under pressure.

In 2019, she stepped into entrepreneurship as the Founder & CEO of Brown Professional Counseling & Consultation Services, LLC and Co-Owner of Brown & Scott Integrated Clinical Practice, Inc., alongside Courtney Scott. The practice provides comprehensive mental health services for individuals, couples, families, and groups using evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-focused therapy. Known for its accessibility and flexibility, the practice offers in-person and virtual services, evening and weekend availability, and a supportive, judgment-free environment.

That same year, Kierra earned her Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) credential, allowing her to mentor and supervise emerging clinicians. Her supervision model emphasizes ethical practice, clinical excellence, accountability, and sustainable professional development.

In December 2021, she co-founded Brown & Scott DUI School, a state-certified DUI Risk Reduction Program. The program’s operational excellence and community impact earned Best of Georgia and Best of Warner Robins recognition in both 2024 and 2025.

Kierra’s influence extends beyond clinical practice. In 2021, she served as a TV Clinical Expert, providing psychological insight for national audiences. 

In October 2024, she joined the Advisory Board for Fort Valley State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program returning to the institution that helped launch her career.

In January 2023, Kierra became a full-time entrepreneur, fully stepping into her purpose. 

On November 22, 2025, she launched The Healing Loop Reset™ Series, anchored by The Healing Loop Reset™: Decoding Your Love Blueprint, released intentionally on her grandmother Ella Mae Harrell’s birthday to honor legacy and generational impact. The series includes five additional therapist-guided workbooks grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and cognitive behavioral principles, designed for both personal and professional application.

Recognized as a Black Leaders Worldwide™ Top Leader for 2025, Kierra’s work reflects sustained commitment to leadership, mentorship, and systemic impact. Guided by her children, strengthened by her mother’s resilience, and inspired by her grandmother’s unwavering belief in her potential, she leads with integrity, intention, and purpose.

Her journey is not just a career. It’s a calling. Every challenge, every setback, and every season of uncertainty prepared her to build something meaningful. And she is only getting started.
