Michael Lewis, a 2024 graduate with his Bachelor’s of Science in psychology, is looking to make his mark in the world of mental health counseling and therapy. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and has lived in Anaheim, California, Orlando, Florida, and Tampa, Florida before moving to his current home of Dallas, Texas. Michael, a talented, empathetic and people-centric young man, discovered this passion back in childhood, becoming fascinated with the way our minds work and why we do the things we do. Growing up, Michael realized the importance of expressing, rather than suppressing emotions and getting support in fighting life’s battles. He is currently working in the auto insurance industry but passionate about racial, economic, and environmental justice. Michael is eager to connect with individuals looking to work together to take on common problems facing the community, especially the homelessness crisis and pollution of the air in and around low income communities. Michael is poised to relocate to Washington, D.C. to start graduate school at Trinity Washington University in January 2025, where he’ll be a candidate for a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In the long term, Michael wants to have his own private practice where he works together with people to overcome life’s challenges. He remains optimistic about the future despite the challenges facing society today and is excited about the opportunity to network and connect with others to make the future brighter.
