Men To Watch 2025 honoree Dr. Cedric B. Howard

Dr. Cedric B. Howard is a seasoned higher education administrator with over 30 years of experience.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several senior administrative positions, including Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services at the State University of New York at Fredonia (SUNY Fredonia), Vice Chancellor for Student and Enrollment Services at the University of Washington Tacoma, and Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). 

Dr. Howard earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgia College and State University, his master's in Educational Administration from the University of Tennessee, and his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management. In the early 2000s, he developed a financial education and literacy program aimed at assisting students and their families in achieving financial preparedness; the principles of this program are detailed in his publication, "FREEDOM: A Step-by-Step Guide to Wealth and Financial Independence." In addition to his administrative roles, Dr. Howard has contributed to the academic community as a senior consultant with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), collaborating with institutions across various states to develop strategic enrollment management plans and marketing strategies. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing student engagement, increasing enrollment, and securing substantial funding for scholarships and student programs.

Dr. Howard's professional excellence has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the National Association of Student Personnel Administration (NASPA) Pillar of the Profession Award in 2019 and the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Dean/VP in 2018. In September 2022, he was honored as one of the "10 Most Inspirational Leaders in Education" by CIO Views magazine.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Howard is an accomplished author. His publications include "FREEDOM: A Step-by-Step Guide to Wealth and Financial Independence," which provides actionable insights into achieving financial success, and "The Blueprint for Brilliance: Transforming Your Leadership and Amplifying Organizational Efficiency," offering guidance on leveraging artificial intelligence for organizational transformation.
