Kenny McMorris is a veteran health care executive, innovator, influencer and strategist with an extensive background in leadership, policy, community and public health. He has served since 2014 as the Chief Executive Officer of Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. where he oversees business, community and primary care operations for the health center consisting of a $24 million operating budget, over 200 employees, 12,000 patients, and nearly 40,000 outpatient service visits annually. Under his leadership the center has expanded to increase service locations from 4 sites to 16 sites including primary medical, dental, pharmacy and behavioral health services with an emphasis on the disenfranchised and addressing social drivers of health.
A native North Omahan, Kenny previously served as the first Executive Director of the 100 Black Men of Omaha and Director of Marketing and Development for the Urban League of Nebraska.
Kenny is active in both the professional and larger community. He is board certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE), Community Health Centers Executives Fellow (CHCEF) and holds memberships with National Medical Association (NMA), National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), American Public Health Association (APHA) and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He is also serves on the Board of Directors of Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Nebraska Methodist College, Radius, Health Center Association of Nebraska, Heartland
Community Health Network, and BRIDGE Family Resource Connector Network.
Kenny holds a MPA in Public Management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
For his commitment to services and community Kenny has been awarded with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Young Alumni Achievement Award (2015), University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Public Affairs and Community Services Alumni Award of Excellence (2016), National Association of Community Health Centers Betsey K. Cooke Grassroots MVP Award (2017), Urban League of Nebraska African American Leadership Award (2018), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Mid-Western Regional Award for Excellence in Health and Wellness (2019), University of Nebraska Medical Center/ Nebraska Medicine Servant Leader Award (2023) and Nebraska Second Congressional District Black History Month Awardee (2025).
Kenny’s wife Makayla is the Founder and Owner of Moxie16. They are the proud parents of two children Kenny Jr and Makenli.
