Men To Watch Awards 2026 honors Randy Davis

With over 37 years of deep expertise in the bedding industry, Randy Davis is the visionary owner and president of The Better Mattress, the only Black-owned mattress retailer in the Western United States. A Colorado native who has built his flagship business in his home state, Randy has disrupted the industry through innovation and accessibility, growing The Better Mattress to five strategically positioned locations across the region. What sets the company apart is its distinctive "Try Before Buy" model and emphasis on locally owned, community-centered service—a refreshing alternative to corporate chains. Behind the scenes, Randy's hands-on leadership drives every facet of the business, from vendor negotiations and cost optimization to real estate strategy and financial performance, demonstrating that Black entrepreneurship in specialty retail can compete and thrive. When he's not building his business legacy, Randy enjoys catching a movie or cheering on Colorado's sports teams—passions that reflect his deep roots in the community he serves.
