Women To Watch 2024 Carla J. Hogan

Carla J. Hogan is an accomplished executive administrative specialist with over 20 years of service to several companies and organizations. She is currently employed with Michigan's largest school district, where she oversees administrative operations and manages the Central Office property totaling over 122,000 square feet under the Office of Operations. Her career is marked by a commitment to efficiency and excellence in providing a high level of administrative support.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carla Hogan is a visionary and advocate for cultural representation and self-empowerment. Inspired by a meaningful dream and a striking observation of underrepresented statues, she realized and founded her passion, Statues Like Me. This enterprise aims to ensure that people of color have access to statues that authentically and beautifully reflect their own ethnicities and identities, promoting self-representation and pride.

Carla's belief in the beauty and honor of melanated skin is central to her mission. She celebrates the diverse spectrum of melanin, from the lightest to the deepest shades of blackness, encouraging individuals to embrace and cherish the beautiful skin they are in. Her initiative promotes a positive self-image among people of color, celebrating features such as fuller lips, hips, broader noses, and a variety of hairstyles from the afro to braids, coils, locs, pixie cuts, and more.

In her personal life, Carla Hogan enjoys gardening, decorating, hosting family and friends for many events, and traveling. She has been married to her husband Thomas for 27 years, is a devoted mother of three children and grandmother of three grandchildren. Her faith in Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of her life, guiding her values and actions. Strategic with her time, Carla serves with the Missions Department of Access Church of God in Christ in Warren, MI to feed the hungry, visit the sick, and encourage the downtrodden. A percentage of proceeds from her company will be set aside for that cause. As a member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated, Carla works with the sisterhood to improve her community by volunteering in many capacities.
