Dr. Danita A. Crawford is a visionary leader with over 20 years of impactful experience across mental and behavioral health, higher education, and public service. With a career spanning senior management and government roles, Dr. Crawford has emerged as a respected strategist and advocate for inclusive organizational practices and cultural competence. As a strategic advisor for Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity, she plays a pivotal role in shaping national standards for organizational leadership, fostering an environment that values equity and diversity.


Dr. Crawford recently co-founded The DS Collective, a transformative venture dedicated to helping individuals realize their full potential. In the aftermath of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy, Dr. Crawford served as the District Recovery Services Manager for Broward County Public Schools, designing and implementing mental health and educational programs for affected communities. Her leadership and crisis management expertise provided essential support, establishing her as a trusted authority on community resilience and recovery.


Her proficiency in resource management and strategic planning is evidenced by her successful oversight of multi-million-dollar government contracts. With a robust background in nonprofit leadership, Dr. Crawford has driven organizational growth and development, building a legacy as a thought leader, mentor, and advocate for emerging leaders. She shares her insights through college teaching and her active involvement in leadership programs nationwide.


Dr. Crawford’s commitment to public service is reflected in her affiliations with esteemed organizations, including Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the National Forum of Black Public Administrators, and the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, among others. Her work with these organizations underscores her dedication to community advancement and social betterment.


Throughout her career, Dr. Crawford has earned numerous accolades, including the 2015 Innovation of the Year award from the Children’s Home Society of Florida, recognition as one of Broward County’s 100 Outstanding Women in 2016 and 2017 by the Boys and Girls Club of America, and selection as one of Legacy Magazine’s South Florida Top Black Educators in 2024. Most recently, she was awarded the prestigious Director's Pinnacle Award, honoring her commitment to excellence and innovation in the Federal Government. Dr. Crawford’s professional contributions continue to set a standard for leadership, resilience, and inspiration in her field.
