Tara McDowell, born on December 26, 1983, is a dedicated leader and mentor, currently serving as the Senior Director of Payroll for Polk County Schools. With a strong foundation in business and management, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Supervision & Management.


A proud daughter of Hattie and Jerry McDowell, Tara grew up alongside her two siblings, Jerry McDowell II and Tanicha McDowell. Family remains at the heart of her journey, especially her son, Tyler Jefferson, who is diligently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.


Beyond her professional achievements, Tara has devoted herself to giving back to her community. She has volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping to bring joy to children and families in need. Passionate about inspiring others, she also serves as a mentor and motivational speaker, empowering individuals to reach their full potential. Since 2019, she has been an active volunteer with the Lakeland Football Program, supporting young athletes in their development both on and off the field.


Currently, Tara is expanding her creative pursuits by working on her cookbook and exploring opportunities in wine marketing. Tara also sits as the Vice President of the HOA Board within her community. Her dedication to personal growth, community service, and professional excellence continues to make a lasting impact on those around her.
