Black Leaders Worldwide honors Dr. Aaron Scott, 2025 Men To Watch.

Dr. Scott served in the United States Army as a 19Delta Armor Reconnaissance Specialist (Calvary Scout) where he attended several leadership courses to include Airborne School and Ranger School. When he ended his term of service, he immediately pursued his bachelor’s degree at Clark Atlanta University receiving a degree in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biophysics. He had missed his time serving his country while in school and enrolled in the ROTC program to become an officer. The ROTC program was comprised of schools from the Atlanta University Center, Georgia Tech, and Georgia Military College. After completing his training at Advanced Camp at Ft. Lewis, WA after his junior year, he made history becoming the first Cadet Battalion Commander in the history of the Atlanta University Center dating back to 1929. He also became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in 1997.


Graduating in 1999, he became a commissioned officer in the Medical Service Corp. After finishing up his term as an Army officer, Aaron returned home and attended the Medical College of Georgia. After graduating, he passed his boards in Nuclear Medicine and began working at Emory University Hospital. In January 2018 he was offered a teaching position at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was in charge of the Nuclear Medicine Program as the Program Director. The courses that he personally taught were Radiation Physics, Advanced Instrumentation, and Radiopharmaceuticals. In his first year of teaching, he was awarded Most Influential Radiologic Educator of the year. This National award was presented by an organization called “Aunt Minnie”, an organization that evaluates educators, leaders, and inventors in the field of medical imaging.


He attended Capella University where he pursued his doctorate in healthcare administration. He thesis was titled “A Qualitative Analysis on Hiring Managers Perspective on Hiring Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder”. His clinical research site was Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Scott met with the executive leadership of the healthcare system, and they have plans to create a “playbook” for all employers to help employ adults with ASD. The final draft of his thesis was approved December 14, 2023, giving him the designation of Doctor of Healthcare Administration.


He is currently the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations of Advanced Molecular Imaging and Therapy. He is spearheading a five-year, 50 state expansion to the organization. Dr. Scott still teaches Radiation Physics at Johns Hopkins Hospital part-time. He sits on the Maryland Board of Physicians and the Nuclear Medicine Representative and field expert.


He has also been extremely active in the professional organizations involving nuclear medicine. Throughout his 21-year career, he has held the position of Georgia Society of Nuclear Medicine President, Southeastern Regional Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging President, National Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging President, and Mid-Eastern Regional Society of Nuclear Medicine President. He is the also the current President of the National Society of Leadership and Success – Capella University Chapter.
