Nkanta has served in c-suite roles across the research, healthcare, and biomedical industries for over twenty-five years. He is the founder, President and CEO of Capital Strategy Group, LLC, a management consulting firm focused in the areas of leadership development, strategy, executive coaching, and culture transformation. He recently won the 2023 & 2024 NIH CEO Award in recognition of his coaching and strategic advisory to promote Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Access through program development. As a senior executive, Nkanta has managed staff sizes of over 800 team members across the domestic United States and globally, with C-Suite P & L experience up to $1 billion. Nkanta focuses on leadership, strategy, diversity and inclusion, and the future readiness of organizations through innovation by practicing a transformational leadership style. Over the years, Nkanta has been published on topics like "Equity and Inclusion in Leadership" (by the Executive Leadership Council - Washington DC), "Leadership Diversity in a Healthcare Era Where Innovation is Essential" (by Cjeka Executive Search - Ausitn, TX), "Physician Leadership Development: The Foundation of Health System Transformation" (by the Center for Creative Leadership - Greensboro, NC). He holds Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Science, and an MBA. As a life-long learner, he has also achieved certifications in Lean Six Sigma through the Dupont Corporation, Diversity & Inclusion, Executive Leadership, and High-Performance Leadership - all through Cornell University, and Brain Based Executive Coaching through the Neuroleadership Institute. Nkanta spends an enormous amount of time giving back through philanthropy and service. Currently he serves as an Advisory Board Member - Seton Hall University – School of Business: “Transformative Leadership” Certificate, he is passionate about his work on the Board of Directors - Global MindED – Education Non-Profit: Denver, CO, and with giving back to youth and education at the forefront of his value system, he is on his sixth year of service to the National HOSA 100 as an Advisory Board Member. In 2023, Nkanta won the prestigious "BRAVO" award in central Virginia for giving back through service to his community. In addition to his current philanthropic and community service efforts listed, for over 32 years, Nkanta is a proud life-member of the illustrious Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Nkanta loves coaching to executives, leading high-performing teams, and in the future, he plans to return to lecturing at the university level and give back to the next generation of business and community leaders. In his spare time, Nkanta enjoys golf, traveling, live music, and spending time with his family.
