Men To Watch Awards 2026 honors Paul H. Flowers Jr.

Paul H. Flowers Jr. is the founder and CEO of Superior Insurance Advisors, a fiduciary-aligned employee benefits consulting firm based in Gary, Indiana. He is a Validation Institute Certified Fiduciary Advisor, one of the first ten professionals in the United States to earn the designation and the first African American to do so. In February 2026, Validation Institute honored him as a Charter Fiduciary Advisor at its 9th Annual Health Value Awards.

Flowers has spent 20 years in the insurance industry. He started in legal insurance and has focused on life and health for the past 15 years. He has trained more than 1,200 people to earn their life and health licenses, and the agents he trained have produced well over $100 million in health and supplemental business. He advises CFOs and HR leaders on plan design, cost control, and fiduciary accountability. He has set a public goal of returning $1 billion in healthcare spending to employers and employees across Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland.

He is the author of multiple books, three of which reached #1 on Amazon, including The Hidden Healthcare Gold Mine and Risk Transfer Revolution. As a keynote speaker and personal coach, he speaks openly about leadership, fatherhood, mental health, and what it takes to build a business as a Black founder.

Beyond the firm, Flowers serves as Executive Director of Life Health & Legal Education Partners (LHALEP), a nonprofit education initiative. When the August 2026 storms left much of Northwest Indiana without power for days, he launched LHALEP’s Gary storm-relief and insurance education effort, produced plain-language content on residents’ rights and options, and worked alongside Indiana counsel so affected families and businesses would not be overlooked. He also leads LoadGuard Alliance, which gives oversized-load carriers nationwide access to pilot and escort cars.

A product of Chicago’s South Side, Flowers holds a Master of Science degree and the CSM® and CITRMS designations. His work rests on one belief: people deserve advisors who answer to them and no one else.
