Women To Watch Awards 2026 honors Dinora Taylor

When the conversation turns to women who have changed lives, built something from nothing, and refused to quit when quitting would have made perfect sense, Dinora Taylor's name belongs at the top of that list.
Selected as a 2026 Women to Watch honoree by Black Leaders Worldwide, Dinora Taylor is a nonprofit funding strategist, social impact advocate, emerging transformational speaker, writer, and the founder of ClarityShift Impact Group. She is also something no title has ever been able to fully capture.
Dinora is a force. She did not wait for the right moment, the right title, or the right room. She built the room. She created the moment. And she did it while carrying more than most people will ever be asked to bear. With nearly two decades of experience working inside and alongside the nonprofit sector, she dedicated her career to the organizations most often overlooked. Small, emerging, and underserved nonprofits doing real work in their communities that still struggled to get funded.
The numbers are hard to ignore. Very small nonprofits, the organizations most likely to be led by BIPOC leaders, make up 60% of all nonprofits in this country yet received only 0.4% of foundation funding in a four year span. That statistic became the foundation everything she built would stand on.Her path to this work was not planned. It was forged in fire.
As an executive director overseeing 25 program sites, she built programs from the ground up, led teams, and secured over one million dollars in funding, Dinora showed up every single day for communities that were counting on her. When that nonprofit closed, everything fell apart at once. She lost her income, her stability, and found herself homeless with four children. Shortly after, she lost her longtime partner to a distracted driver. A sudden and violent loss that shattered her family all over again.
Homeless. Grieving. Raising four children alone. She had every reason to stop. She did not stop.
Over the next five years, she got her CDL, drove trucks, kept her children fed and stable, and never once let go of what she knew she was called to do. She did not shrink, although there were dark times, she did not disappear. She refused to let her circumstances become her identity or conclusion. That season taught her things no degree ever could. She learned what it actually costs when an organization relies on one funding source. She learned what it means to have nothing, to need help and not be able to find it. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, she made a decision that changed everything. Her experience would become a resource, not a wound. Her story would become someone else's strategy.
From that decision, ClarityShift Impact Group was born. Built around the C-SHIFT Sustainability Model, a six-pillar methodology of Clarity, Structure, Health, Impact, Funding, and Transformation, ClarityShift exists to give underserved nonprofits the foundation, the strategy, and the funding readiness they need to survive long enough to do the work they were built to do.
Today, Dinora works closely with underserved nonprofit leaders, particularly women, minority led, and community rooted leaders who have been building something real with very little, helping them get clear, organized, and funded. She works on a sliding scale because she never forgot what it felt like to need help and not be able to afford it.
As an emerging transformational speaker, Dinora brings that same energy to every stage she steps onto. Her signature talk, Your Three Words: The Foundation Behind Every Dollar, challenges every leader to get radically clear about who they are and what they do. Three words. That is the foundation. And when the foundation is right, the funding and growth follows.
Dinora holds an associate degree in Paralegal Studies, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in IT Management, and is completing her MBA in Nonprofit Management. She did not just study this work. She lived it. She was shaped by it. And she came back to make her experiences count.
She is a devoted mother of four. A woman who turned the hardest seasons of her life into a lifeline for someone else. A builder. A strategist. A survivor who became someone else's solution.
This recognition is well deserved. But Dinora Taylor did not wait to be recognized. She showed up long before anyone was watching. She did the work when there was no stage, no spotlight, and no safety net beneath her.
